Suddenly, It’s Fall!

Posted On: September 22nd, 2018

Summer teases us with its curtain calls, but you know it is fCountry dirt roadall when hot air balloons polka-dot the sky, as they are this weekend at the Adirondack Balloon Festival in Queensbury The festival draws to a close tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, 9/23).

But before the last balloon is packed up  tomorrow night, acres and acres of Warrensburg real estate will be chalked off into vendor sites for the 39th Annual World’s Largest Garage Sale, set to launch next weekend. Streets and sidewalks will be flooded with shoppers, looking for everything from socks to socket wrenches to antiques, housewares and fab food.  It begins on September 29th, and wraps the next day. Hop aboard the free shuttle and avoid the hassle of trying to navigate an auto through town.

More fall fun comes a week later! On Saturday, October 6, look for Thurman Fall Farm Tour, a free event at which you can take a leisurely self-guided ramble to nine farms in Thurman and Athol, just minutes from Warrensburg, Lake George, North Creek and Chestertown. Start with a pancake breakfast, meander to see animals, garden goodies, cheese, maple goods, artisans’ creations, live (and often interactive) demos, and kids’ fun. Savor a buffet lunch from noon to 3, and enter a free passport drawing for wonderful prizes. We’ll post more details next week, so tune in again.
