This class will be a running series offered to teach people the art of herbalism. Concepts covered include but not are not limited to the importance of names, identification, sustainability, purity, which part used and how, history , emotional and other uses for herbs, contraindications, terminology used in herbalism and much more. In this class we will continue to cover some of the beginning concepts into using herbs and the foundations of herbalism. We will specifically be talking about how different forms of agriculture affect the medicinal properties of plants.
Classes are held at Martin’s Lumber in Thurman NY. Classes are held in the loft or the upper room depending on participants and weather. All classes are meant for everyone from the beginner to the advanced herb user and are presented in an interactive form instead of a lecture allowing for a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Children are welcome as guests or participants. We break for lunch or a communal snack in the middle of the class. All you need is a pen and notebook, if you wish to take notes and a snack or lunch if you want.
Classes cost $45 for your first class and $35 for additional classes and are payable in cash. Herbal formulas can be ordered in class if you desire. Classes that you take more than once cost $20.
