Herbs: Art of Herbalism Series—our monthly herb class
February 22 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm$35
This is an ongoing class that can be started at any time. We started foraging and now we will learn to use plants and herbs in your gardens to attract bees, butterflies and birds. Amy will show what plants you can use in your garden to make it more resistant to bugs by attracting beneficial bugs. Learn to what flowers to plant to attract bees to your food plants and trees as well as providing them with the food they so vitally need. The importance of seed and plant sources and some beneficial gardening practices will also be covered. We will decide on doing a collective seed order and a spring plant swap! Time permitting, we will also add 2 more herbs to our herbal library.
Classes are held at Martin’s Lumber in Thurman NY. Classes are held in the loft or the upper room depending on participants and weather. All classes are meant for everyone from the beginner to the advanced herb user and are presented in an interactive form instead of a lecture allowing for a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Children are welcome as guests or participants. We break for lunch or a communal snack in the middle of the class. All you need is a pen and notebook, if you wish to take notes and a snack or lunch if you want.
Classes cost $45 for your first class and $35 for additional classes and are payable in cash. Herbal formulas can be ordered in class if you desire. Classes that you take more than once cost $20.
